Location: Murfreesboro Care Center Specializing in: Sports Medicine, Arthroscopy, Joint Replacement, General Orthopaedics, Special Interest in Shoulder, Knee, and Hand Disorders Dr. Jekot was Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons in 1982, and is licensed to practice medicine in the state of Tennessee. His areas of specialization include general orthopaedics, sports medicine, arthroscopy, joint replacement, and hand surgery. He is affiliated with Middle Tennessee Medical Center and Ambulatory Surgery Center and Physicians Pavilion. Dr. Jekot graduated from high school at St. Alphonsus in Dearborn, Michigan, and from college at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana as a chemistry major in 1971. He earned his Medical Degree at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor in 1975, where he also served his internship. He completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery in 1980. Dr. Jekot was a Clinical Instructor in Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation at the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville, Tennessee from 1980 to 1983. Following this service, he began private practice in Murfreesboro. Dr. Jekot is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and a Fellow with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is a member of the Rutherford County and Stones River Academies of Medicine, Nashville Surgical Society, Tennessee Orthopaedic Society, and Alpha Epsilon Delta Honor Society. Dr. Jekot is an active supporter of the arts and historic preservation on both local and national levels. He is an avid participant in Alpine skiing, tennis, and physical fitness. |
