Dr. Dimick is Board Certified with the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, and is licensed to practice medicine in the states of Tennessee, Florida, and Alabama. His specialties include spine and general orthopaedics. He is affiliated with Summit Medical Center, Baptist Hospital, Skyline Madison Campus, Premier Orthopaedic Surgery Center, and HealthSouth Surgery Center. He maintains courtesy privileges at StoneCrest, Skyline, Southern Hills, and Centennial Medical Centers.

 

Dr. Dimick received a Fellowship in Spinal Surgery at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. He also received an AO Fellowships in Spinal Surgery at AO Fellowship at Inselspital in Bern, Switzerland, an AO Fellowship in Trauma at Rechts der Isar Inspital in Munich, Germany, and a Knee Surgery and Sports Medicine Fellowship at North Sydney Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Centre in Sydney, Australia.

 

Dr. Dimick served his Residency in General Surgery and Orthopaedic Surgery at UAB Hospitals in Birmingham, Alabama and was Chief Resident there in 1989 – 1990. He achieved his Medical Degree in May 1984, from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham, Alabama. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry at the University of Alabama in

Tuscaloosa, graduating Magna cum Laude. He was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, and Omicron Delta Kappa, and was awarded Scholar Athlete Awards by the Department of Athletics. He was also a Rhodes Scholar Semifinalist.

 

Dr. Dimick serves as Chairman of the Department of Orthopaedics and Neurosurgery at Summit Medical Center in Hermitage, Tennessee and previously served as a member of its Surgery Advisory Committee. He is also affiliated with Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee where he served on the Committee on Emergency Medicine. Additional affiliations are with Baptist Hospital, Skyline Medical Center, Saint Thomas Hospital, and Southern Hills Medical Center, all in Nashville, Tennessee. He also served as a member of Tennessee Works on the Physician Credentialing Committee at Vanderbilt University, the Medical Executive Committee at Summit Medical Center, and the Panel of Treating Physicians for the Sumner County Government and Board of Education.

 

Prior to joining Premier Orthopaedics in 2004, Dr. Dimick practiced at Mid-South Orthopaedic Associates in Nashville, and with Campbell, Smith & Benton in Pensacola, Florida, where he was Team Physician for the University of West Florida.

 

Dr. Dimick is a member of the Nashville Orthopaedic Society, Nashville Academy of Medicine, Tennessee Medical Association, Tennessee Orthopaedic Society, Southern Orthopaedic Association, Southern Medical Association, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Medical Association, AO/ASIF Fellowship Alumni Association, and is a Referral Surgeon for Jehovah’s Witness Hospital Liaison Committee.
